The project Speak Up Yourself aims to improve the teaching skills of teachers, providing them with a valid support, create useful tools, improve the communication of students with special and non-verbalizing educational needs and improve their opportunities for integration into social and professional life.
To achieve the objectives, three useful tools will be developed to support European teachers.
- “My Special Diary” with best practices for dealing with students with cognitive and non-verbalizing difficulties.
- “SpeakUp Handbook” with the latest state of the art theory and methodology of special education.
- App Speak Up Yourself. The app will use Makaton language and will be used by teachers and parents in everyday life. It will make it feasible to interact and develop a solid environment for both teachers/staff and students where basic communication has been achieved
